Terms of service
Last updated: [DATE - to be set at launch]
These terms apply to SiteAgent (the "Service"), provided by SiteAgent ("we", "us"). By creating an account you ("the Client") agree to them.
1. The Service
The Service lets the Client add an AI chat assistant to their own website. The assistant answers visitors using the instructions and knowledge the Client provides, and can collect leads and, on some plans, look up orders in the Client's online store.
2. Accounts
- The Client must give accurate details and keep their password safe.
- The Client is responsible for everything done with their account.
- We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, is used for abuse, or has unpaid fees.
3. Plans, trial and payment
- New accounts start on a free trial. When the trial ends, the assistant stops answering with AI until the Client moves to a paid plan.
- Each plan has a monthly message limit. When it is reached, the assistant shows the Client's fallback message until the next month or an upgrade.
- [Payment method, billing cycle, taxes, refunds and cancellation terms - to be completed.]
4. The Client's content
- The Client keeps ownership of the knowledge, instructions and other content they add, and gives us permission to store and process it to run the Service.
- The Client must have the right to use that content and must not add unlawful, misleading or harmful material.
- The Client is responsible for telling their own website visitors that a chat assistant is used and for having a privacy notice that covers it.
5. AI answers
Answers are generated by AI and can be wrong or incomplete, even though the assistant is instructed to answer only from the Client's knowledge. The Client should check that their knowledge is accurate and should not rely on the assistant for legal, medical or financial decisions.
6. Acceptable use
- No use for spam, fraud, harassment or collecting sensitive data such as passwords, card numbers or national ID numbers.
- No attempts to break, overload or get around the limits or security of the Service.
7. Integrations and API keys
If the Client connects a store, a webhook or their own AI provider key, they authorise us to use those credentials only to provide the Service. Credentials are stored encrypted. The Client is responsible for costs charged by their own AI provider.
8. Availability and liability
[Service availability, limitation of liability, warranties and indemnity - to be completed by a lawyer.]
9. Ending the service
The Client can stop using the Service at any time. [Data export and deletion after closing an account - to be completed.]
10. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms and will tell Clients about important changes by email. [Governing law and jurisdiction - to be completed.]
